Adam Weinert’s Dance of the Ages at Jacob’s Pillow | A Short Dance Film

Last September, I spent a long weekend at Jacob’s Pillow filming a behind-the-scenes film of Adam Weinert’s reconstruction of Dance of the Ages, the iconic Ted Shawn piece.
Dance of the Ages debuted in 1938 (80 years ago!) and Weinert did a magnificent job bringing the historic performance back to life. The Pillow transformed itself to reflect the original production and design, so that guests could experience the dance as it was first performed all those decades ago. I felt like I was time-traveling. It was magical!
We’ve already shared with you the promo video we made for Adam Weinert and Jacob’s Pillow, and you’ve seen my Facebook Live with Abby Wood, the Pillow’s Marketing Director, about how special this performance was. Now, we’re finally able to share with you the short film we made!! Enjoy!!!

Beautiful film, Nel! I love seeing Ted Shawn’s movement in the old films and the recreation.
Adam had been a student in the School the same summer that I was an intern. Wonderful to see what he’s doing and that his connection with the Pillow remains.
Hope you and your family are well! Xx
Thank you, Sarah! The Pillow really brings people together!!!
