If you’ve been following my blog, you know I’ve been filming American Dance Machine‘s newest projects (see “Simply Irresistible” & “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes“). So far, I’ve shown behind-the-scenes videos of the dancers and directors of each work, so I thought I’d share scenes from one of their showings at the Alvin Ailey Studios in May.

“Mr. Monotony,” with music & lyrics by Irving Berlin, was originally choreographed by Jerome Robbins for the Broadway show Miss Liberty in 1949.

Staged by Robert La Fosse, American Dance Machine’s reconstruction is danced by Amar Ramasar, Georginal Pazcoguin and Daniel Ulbricht, courtesy of New York City Ballet.
