The Power of a Rich Arts Education

If you know me, you know that I believe wholeheartedly in the immense power of arts education – so you can imagine how excited I was when Harlem School of the Arts came to us to create a video for their 50th anniversary gala. I set out to create a video that encapsulated all of the wonderful things Harlem School of the Arts has to offer. And to inspire joy and generosity from friends and supporters!

FAST FACTS:

Research shows that children from high-poverty areas who have rich arts experiences are five times more likely than their peers to finish high school.

Students who take four years of arts and music classes average about 100 points higher on their SAT scores than students who take one half year or less.

and HSA parents feel that participating in a Harlem School of the Arts course advanced their child’s artistic skills and knowledge.

I was so inspired by our interviews with students and artists in the HSA community. I loved all they had to say about HSA and how arts education changes lives – not to mention, I was completely blown away by their artistry and heart.

Hope everyone else feels moved by this – and by arts education in general! – after watching this video, too!! xo
