PS DANCE!, my documentary on dance education in NYC’s public schools, premiered at Hunter College, screened on THIRTEEN/WNET and on public television channels across the nation, received a New York Emmy nomination, and had a featured screening at Dance on Camera Festival.
No Dominion: The Ian Horvath Story
No Dominion, a documentary celebrating the remarkable life of the late Ian Horvath, dance champion and AIDS activist, with new dance performances and interviews, co-directed with Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Margaret Mullin.
Where Women Don't Dance
My dance documentary Where Women Don’t Dance, featuring Nejla Y. Yatkin and filmed during a month-long tour in Central America, has been screened in Chicago at Links Hall, Washington D.C. at Dance Place, and during a PillowTalk at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival.
I created dance film READY with choreographer Samuel Asher Kunzman and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater dancer Sarah Daley in Brooklyn’s beautiful Prospect Park. Watch our short film online.
Folie a Deux
I created dance film Folie a Déux with choreographer Adam Barrach. Our short film has been screened at Dance on Camera Festival in New York City and the San Francisco Dance Film Festival.
I created four dance films for Wendy Whelan’s Restless Creature – a program of four duets with choreographers Kyle Abraham, Joshua Beamish, Brian Brooks and Alejandro Cerrudo. These films were used to provide insight into their artistic processes, highlight Wendy’s new pathway in her career, and promote upcoming performances.
