Defining the purpose of your video.

On my last Facebook Live, I had my marketing manager, Amy Jacobus, on as a guest. I’ve been working with Amy for 8 years, and we are always, always talking about ways our clients can promote their dance videos.

Since this is constantly on our minds, we thought it would be fun to share some of our thoughts with you, live from the NSP office!!

Making a video is a huge investment of time, a huge investment of resources (from NSP and the clients!) and it becomes a partnership that can be SO valuable, so we just always want to see our clients squeeze the most value out of everything that we do together. If a client comes to us and doesn’t know exactly when they’re releasing their video, where they’re going to share it, or who they’re sharing it with, we start to ask a bunch of questions to dig deeper into why you’re making the video in the first place…

Knowing the purpose behind your video means you’re less likely to just share it once, receive a couple of likes and a handful of comments, and that’s that. If you know why you’re making a video, you can get so much more out of it!

And of course, Amy and I talked again about how you should always re-share your video content! If you ever catch yourself saying: “Oh, this video is old – we made it two years ago, I don’t want to share again…”  watch this Facebook Live!!

Hint: As long as the inspiration is there, as long as it’s helping you raise money, as long as it’s selling tickets for you, as long as you’re getting applicants because of it, you can keep using that video for years to come!!! 🙂
