NSP End of Summer Video 2021
What a summer! Here at NSP, we really had a blast.
I’m so proud of my team for continuing to adapt to the changing landscape of performance as we move beyond the restrictions of the past year.
So much of this has been trusting the process—that has meant putting trust into my team members, growing my team, buying more gear, and getting the work done in a thoughtful and collaborative way.
Over summer 2021, here’s what we did at NSP…
Created with a talented team of 30+
Collaborated with 100+ artists
Filmed and photographed 2 dance festivals
Captured over 35 live performances
Produced over 9 on-demand performances
Live-streamed over 12 shows
Captured drone footage in new and creative ways
Filmed with 3-4 cameras every shoot
Edited 40+ marketing videos

My team is always amazing to me, but above all, we are always supporting one another. We are so full of gratitude.
Let’s do it all over again together this Fall!

I started working with NSP a long, long time ago as “the wide cam guy” on a two-camera shoot. Nel and I would do a two-camera shoot together, usually in NYC, but sometimes as far away as Kalamazoo, MI!
Over time, Nel has offered photography as part of her NSP offerings, so I’ve done a lot of photography for her clients. That includes photographing live performance, in-rehearsal creative processes, and creative portrait shoots.
My video skills have increased from “that wide cam guy” (🤪) to shooting on my DSLR cameras and setting up Nel‘s interviews, to now using the gimbal on a moving shot. And, I recently received my FAA Part 107 Drone Certification, so I am now one of Nel‘s licensed drone operators!
I also capture a lot of the behind-the-scenes moments of the NSP team at work, which is always a lot of fun. In a way, I’ve always been working behind-the-scenes for NSP– from supporting Nel at home, being a listening ear, and always being down to collaborate.
I give my input on her edits, but it also includes a lot of cooking and shopping and keeping her coffee warm when she is working super-duper hard, which is what she is really known to do all of the time.
