We celebrated Dormeshia, recipient of this year’s Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award, and we shared dance from around the globe, with performances by:

Global Pillow is a true tour around the world, hearing from artistic directors about how they’ve continued to create and keep dancing through the last year in a pandemic. Jacob’s Pillow usually invites multiple international companies to its stages during the Festival, so this was a beautiful way to stay connected with dance outside the U.S. while there are still travel restrictions.
I’m so proud of and thankful for my talented team for making such a wonderful program possible!! As usual, we ended the evening with a Jacob’s Pillow Dance Party. It’s so much fun to connect with the Pillow Community and dance it out, even on Zoom!!

Nel Shelby is Owner & Filmmaker for Nel Shelby Productions, her New York City-based company dedicated to dance videography and editing. Nel shares her mission to preserve and promote the art of dance with her husband, Christopher Duggan, a dance and wedding photographer. They collaborate on projects with dance companies of worldwide renown, up-and-coming choreographers, dance educators, dance schools and more. Nel is Video Producer at Jacob’s Pillow and Vail Dance Festival and is also the proud Director and Producer of PS DANCE! — a New York Emmy-nominated documentary about dance education in NYC’s public schools.
