Jacob’s Pillow and Vail Dance Video | Wrapping up Summer 2016!
The end of the summer is always bittersweet – I am so lucky to be able to spend my summer in the beautiful Berkshires and Vail, Colorado, filming and supporting the best dance artists in the world, collaborating with my husband and NSP team, and mentoring my young filmmaker interns. Jacob’s Pillow and Vail Dance bring people together to experience and appreciate dance in a way that is really extraordinary.
I’m so proud of the work we’ve done!! Check out some of my favorite videos from this summer. It was so hard to pick just a few!!
Vail Dance is not only a site for performance of classics and contemporary choreography but a festival that encourages the creation of new works and premieres collaborations you wouldn’t normally see in the dance world. 1•2•3•4•5•6 featured Michelle Dorrance, Robbie Fairchild, Melissa Toogood and Lil Buck.
Educating audiences about the incredible dancers of FLEXN! These videos were made to encourage ticket sales for their shows and spark engagement online about their production at the Pillow.
Isabella Boylston & Calvin Royal III rehearse Christopher Wheeldon’s “This Bitter Earth” at Vail Dance.
Isabella Boylston & James Whiteside joined BalletX in rehearsal for a world premiere of Matthew Neenan’s piece “Credo” at Vail Dance Festival 2016.
These are only a few of the videos I’m proud to have created over the summer with Vail and Jacob’s Pillow. I’m planning to share more short dance films from Vail over the next few weeks, and you’ll be able to watch them on our YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. I’m loving every second of editing these films!!
It’s been an amazing summer – I hope you all had a productive, creative, joyful summer too! I’m thrilled to rejoin the Nel Shelby Productions team in New York City. We’re already getting straight to work on documenting and editing Fall dance performances!
