Nel Shelby Productions, a fast-paced video production company in New York City, is in search of an Operations & Business Development Manager.
NSP is looking for a full-time, salaried person to run operations, working directly with the owner Nel Shelby. This person must exude patience, empathy, wit and confidence. They must be a big thinker, detail oriented, a collaborator, team player, fun, and have a sense of humor. This person will be the glue of NSP as the owner Nel Shelby focuses her attention on filmmaking and artistic direction of all NSP videos.
Responsibilities include: responding to inquiries, speaking with potential clients, sending proposals to potential clients, booking clients, creating contracts, sending first invoices and confirming pay before projects begin, booking videographers and editors, arranging and participating in weekly calls and monthly full-team meetings, advising on workflow, and overseeing office procedures to keep all team members accountable and all projects organized.
The Operations & Business Development Manager will work in NSP’s Manhattan office located in midtown and will help in managing a freelance team of kind and passionate project managers, editors and videographers.
Candidates should be familiar with the dance field and/or video production, with 2-5 years of related professional experience. Helpful if candidates have experience in sales, but not a must. The position does not currently include benefits, but this is possible in the future.
