Kate Weare Company | Dark Lark at BAM

Jessica Ray, one of my trusted videographers, filmed Kate Weare Company’s performance of Dark Lark, a world premiere, at BAM Fisher in Brooklyn last year. All of us at Nel Shelby Productions are huge fans of Kate Weare’s work, and Jessica told me she really liked filming Dark Lark because Kate gave her more range to play around with the framing of the filming. She was definitely mindful of what the camera was catching, but it was also great to be able to move in a bit more intimately with the camera, and the dancers were so phenomenal that it was a really exciting shoot.
