Making the Most of your Raw Footage | Video Tip

by | Feb 20, 2017 | Promotional Video, Video Tip

Let me guess – your dance company is having trouble generating consistent, quality content for your marketing needs and media output.

This kind of content is expected now in digital marketing – particularly on social media. However, finding quality content is easier than you think!

We offer our clients the opportunity to receive a drive that contains all of your performance’s raw footage when you work with us, in addition to any a professional cut that we edit together. This raw footage offers a wealth of quality content that you can use in new and creative ways!

We don’t always see raw footage used to its full capacity – so we wanted to share with you two successful ideas from our clients.

Limon Dance Company

The Limon company did a special day-long shoot with Nel Shelby Productions this past fall. It was a day long session where we filmed multiple dances with professional lighting in the Dance Theatre of Harlem studios. This one shoot brought them rich, hi-quality footage to use wherever and whenever they need it!

The Limon company used their raw footage to create a meet the dancers series. Limon’s marketing team filmed quick video interviews spliced with dance excerpts from NSP. We’re so proud of Katie Wilson and the LC marketing department for their creative use of their video!

Kate Weare Company

We recently filmed Marksman by Kate Weare Company at the Joyce Theatre. For this show, we didn’t do any editing – we simply gave all of the raw footage to KWC’s Executive Director Keira Chang. Keira is a very talented editor herself- and she edits the footage together to promote the company’s future shows. Keira was super creative and used Lay/ar – an augmented reality App – to embed a bit of video into a KWC brochure!!
