Stream Hip-Hop Across the Pillow
I’m so excited to share that you can stream the Hip-Hop Across the Pillow documentary for FREE on Jacob’s Pillow’s On-Demand platform!!
This exclusive documentary we made for Jacob’s Pillow celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop and the phenomenal artists who graced the indoor and outdoor stages at Jacob’s Pillow this summer.
The 30-minute film takes you on a journey into the heart of hip-hop, featuring iconic performances by Rennie Harris Puremovement, d. Sabela grimes and the Ladies of Hip-Hop, Rokafella & Kwikstep, and more!
Producing a short dance documentary film like this one is truly a collaborative journey – from the co-curators shaping the vision, the talented videographers on my team capturing every moment, the incredible artists bringing their craft to life, to the dedicated staff at Jacob’s Pillow making it all possible.
I am grateful for the opportunity to immerse myself in this collective effort and bring the story to life through editing. It’s both a fulfilling and heartwarming experience!!!
“The range of things that happened that week is performances on the Ted Shawn Theatre stage, performances on the Henry J. Leir stage, a PillowTalk, and we had the All-Styles Battle happening in the Perles Studio. Folks who were in the programming on the TST were teaching in The School that week and in the Community Programming. So, when we say “Across The Pillow,” we mean truly in all of the places where there can be programming, Hip-Hop was what was on tap that week.” – Melanie George, Co-Curator of Hip-Hop Across The Pillow
