Summation Dance is one of those companies with the kind of ambition and risk-taking that always surprises me. The company is only three years old, and I have already filmed four of their shows.

Cozy in Judson Memorial Church, Summation Dance’s Dancing Literate Project performance was gutsy and unique. Filming from the front row, I felt like a part of the dance! We created this very quick promotional dance video the day after the show to help the company keep the excitement going.

It’s always fun to work with footage right after the show − perhaps it feeds the “TV” side of me and reminds me of my broadcast video roots in school. I’m always amazed by how live television makes things happen so fast, and this project’s speed was a spinoff of that. Thanks to my team player Jessica Ray for filming with me and helping with this edit!
