New York City Ballet MOVES returned to the Vail International Dance Festival this summer after debuting at the festival last year.

We used three cameras to film Sunday night’s performance in the gorgeous Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. I grew up in Colorado, but I always forget how chilly it gets at night. Even though I was shivering at my camera, I was in heaven filming the exquisite dancers of New York City Ballet MOVES. Filming Tiler Peck and Amar Ramasar, both principal dancers with New York City Ballet, was a highlight of the evening. They performed Jerome Robbins’ ballet In the Night.

Then NYCB MOVES performed another Robbins work titled Moves, which is danced in silence. It was so cool to hear all the sounds in the theater, the movement was captivating and I could tell the audience really loved it. Damian Woetzel, Artistic Director of Vail International Dance Festival, speaks about Moves in the video below.

My husband Christopher, my colleague and close friend Loren R. Robertson and I are filming most of the festival this summer so check out my Facebook page and follow me on Twitter to see more dance videos over the next 10 days.
