Dance Documentaries

Nel is a New York Emmy-nominated filmmaker with a passion for creating documentaries that let audiences in to the magic of the dance world. Her documentaries have aired on television channels across the nation and have been screened at festivals like Dance on Camera (Lincoln Center), Jacob’s Pillow (Massachusetts) and more.

Storytelling through documentary film allows artists to move beyond the proscenium and let audiences into the creative process.

We have worked on a diverse range of documentary film projects, including Where Women Don’t Dance, filmed during a month-long tour with choreographer Nejla Y. Yatkin in Central America; PS DANCE!, about dance programs in New York City public schools; and a feature-length documentary about Ian Horvath’s life, art and activism called No Dominion: The Ian Horvath Story.

“Inspiring. Uplifting. Insightful. Arts education is a basic right. PS DANCE! shows us why we must protect it.”
