Video Storytelling with Jacob’s Pillow | Promo Video

by | Feb 9, 2017 | Promotional Video

I spend every summer in the Berkshires filming world-class artists and dance companies at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival.

The footage we shoot during the summer helps to promote the events during the Festival – but we also work year-round with the Pillow to make videos that support other programs, campaigns and experiences. We recently made promo videos for The School featuring Aspen Santa Fe Ballet dancer Craig Black.

It really is a sacred ground… for us to be able to be here and to help move dance forward, but also being able to look back and see where we’ve come from.

This promo video for The School at Jacob’s Pillow was glorious to put together. Christopher and I worked with Jacob’s Pillow’s former marketing director Mariclare Hulbert to create more of a dance film look for this piece. The intention was to tell a story about the School, but with a new look for the pillow.

Craig was amazing to work with, and filming in the Bacalar studio at Jacob’s Pillow is magical. You can feel the history and artistry of generations of dancers who have trained and rehearsed there!
